De software van de Maxxyz lijkt nu wel op punt te komen qua snelheid :-)
The software guys have been very busy the last few weeks and have done some amazing work on the internal DMX processing of the console with version 1.6 .
As a result we've been able to run thousands of LED fixture now without any noticeable slow down of the console.
Because the Maxxyz does not use any external processing devices you don't have to buy more "boxes" to run several universes packed with LEDs.
The improvements will benefit everybody but it is helping a lot if you have a lot of chases and cues going at the same time, especially a lot of LEDs or channels crossfading. Nightclubs and "on the fly" shows running stuff all over the place should benefit from the changes a lot.
I've seen shows with 4 wing modules fully loaded run by two or even three operators and its all working very nicely.
Also with this version we activated the internal midi connectors. We will publish a document next week how the current midi mapping (which is not fully implemented yet) works.
I've been testing the software with Atomic strobes and the response time of the console is phenomenal now, even for large cues with lots of values.
Give it a try and let us know if you notice the difference. We're programming several large tours at the moment here in the US and the guys are loving all the performance tune ups that have been done.
If you use Macros a lot you will appreciate that the macro tool now is properly filled with the correct settings when you edit them.
The bootup time has been improved as well and the DMX output is not activated until the console is fully started up. This prevents the fixtures from going to 0/0 on bootup and then swinging down to default when the dmx is running.
