Bijgaand de specificaties van de nieuwe Martin Mac550. De wereldprimeur vindt plaats over twee weken op de Plasa 2003.
Het is een heel verhaal maar ik wilde niemand iets onthouden.
Lamp:
The MAC 550 uses a brand new version of existing lamp technology from Osram in Germany. The lamp is the double ended HTI 400/D3. It has a rated lifetime of 750 hours and a color temperature of 7500 Kelvin. As always, we looked at all of our major working partners in the lamp manufacturing industry and after a long process, the Osram lamp was chosen as giving the best performance for the fixture.
The light output achievable with this lamp is 9,300 lumens. The official figure for the MAC 500 fixture is 9,000 lumens so you can see that we lie slightly higher than this industry standard, light output wise. How do we do that with only a 400 Watt lamp compared to the 575 Watt lamp of the MAC 500. Well, part of it is due to the lamp itself, a significant part is due to the new glass reflector technology that we are using inside the fixture and finally, the third part is due to the fact that we are using an electronic ballast to fire the lamp. The electronic ballast also gives other advantages, but I'll come onto those later.
This will be one of the most often asked questions that you hear - how is the light output compared to a MAC 500. Well now you know and the key here is that by achieving this output with a lower wattage lamp, customers will be saving money on their power expenses.
Motorised Zoom system:
A much requested feature from customers has been for a zoom system of some kind inside a mid range fixture. We are glad to oblige and have included fully motorised zoom in the MAC 550 capable of beam angles from 14 to 30 degrees. Being fully motorized it is possible to achieve any beam angle within the range. A number of competitors to the MAC 550 employ step zoom systems. These are wheel based and only offer two or three different beam angles. These are limiting and do not provide the same smooth effect as a continuous system.
As you would expect the lenses inside the MAC 550, including the zoom system come with optical coatings to decrease light loss and to give a better picture quality in the final projection.
The lens system also comes with remote focus control giving accessibility to the sharpness of the image projection.
Dynamic Graphical Engine:
The MAC 550 is quite simply the best in its class when it comes to the graphical possibilities.
Firstly we put in a 6 slot, plus open, rotating gobo wheel. This wheel uses the same modular design base as the MAC 2000 gobo wheels, making them easy to change and easy to clean. Each of the gobo holders can take dichroic glass, structured glass or metal gobos, giving designers a wealth of possibility. Rotation / Indexing control is 16 bit as standard giving users absolute accuracy. A new set of gobos feature throughout this wheel.
Then, we added a 9 slot, plus open, fixed gobo wheel. Once again this wheel features easily replaceable gobos, but is built to house the metal variety. Once again, a new set of gobo designs feature on this wheel. All gobos on both wheels retain the same size as the MAC 500, so any customers who have invested in custom gobos will be able to continue using them with ease.
Further standard features for both of these wheels such as continuous wheel rotation and the gobo shake function are included, as you would expect. It's worth pointing out that these features which are well received and very well liked by our customers are not included in some competitive fixtures.
Then, we went even further and added a gobo animation system. The same system that was pioneered by Martin in the MAC 2000 Performance and proved to be a huge success in many other segments is now in the MAC 550. A truly unique effect that no competitors can match! Technically, the system has exactly the same functionality as the system in the MAC 2000 Performance. This means that all of the effects achievable with a Performance are now available for users with a smaller budget - rising fla
